  • Six years of Post Secondary education
  • Proficiency Examination
  • Three years of approved Post Graduate hospital Training
  • Appropriate Medical License or Certificate
  • Evidence of Good Moral Character
  • Course in the identification of child abuse and maltreatment
  • Acceptable scores on a clinical competency examination acceptable to the Department
  • Not less than five years of satisfactory professional experience
  • United States citizen or alien lawfully admitted for permanent resident status in the United States
